The 52nd edition of Pravda-Television-Slovnaft meeting will start in four days in the sports complex of x-bionic® sphere in Samorin. Actual shape of competing stars promises excellent athletics on Saturday event. Several of those athletes who will be present at P – T – S meeting competed on Tuesday in Turku, Finland – at the meeting dedicated to the legendary runner, Paavo Nurmi and they showed great performances.
Turkish 200m runner originally from Azerbaijan, Ramil Guliyev won a 100m run in a personal best of 10.02! Only five Europeans with white skin have achieved a better time than the 27-year-old student of pedagogy at the University of Dumlupinar in the west-turkish 24-thousand city of Küthaya. 2016 European silver medalist and 2016 Olympic finalist on 200 meters, Guliyev has improved his personal best by 4 hundredths and he indicated that he wants to break the 24 years old meeting record (20,12) of Adeniken from Nigeria. Guliyev is one of the first athletes, who will arrive to Samorin. Organizers are expecting him on Wednesday night. Great performance from Turku is also bringing to Samorin Emil Erasmus from South Africa. In Turku he ran 100m and finished third with time of 10, 13.
The Polish hammer thrower, Pawel Fajdek is also having great shape so the meeting record of Litvinov (80.90m) may be broken on Saturday, June 17th. World and European Champion threw 82.40 meters and by 9 cm he has improved his own world and seasonal best. Fajdek has no serious rivals on a starting list. He has overtaken the 80 meters line six times already and he is the leader of the world ranking with almost 4 meters ahead! Unfortunately, his training colleague, Slovak Marcel Lomnicky, had three unsuccessful attempts in Turku and he was not classified.
“I felt great and in shape, but I can`t get a good technique in last few days. Three times I hit the throwing cage. In spite of the cold weather, it was possible to throw long attempts, which has Pawel Fajdek shown and he threw over 80m without any problems,” said the 29-year-old Lomnicky to the Slovak press agency (SITA).
