SARA FANTINI (Italy – hammer throw women, 1st place, 70,80 m): “I am so happy that I could be here, it is just a great meeting. I am not fully satisfied with my performance. I think that the weather haven´t influenced me, it was more about the technique that did not work according to my plans. I am looking forward to the European Championships in Rome.”
VERONIKA KAŇUCHOVÁ (Slovakia – hammer throw women, 4th place, 65,73 m): “I am not at all satisfied with my performance as well as my result. I cannot say what was wrong, I probably need just a little rest.”
MARTINA HRAŠNOVÁ (Slovakia – hammer throw women, 6th place, 62.39 m): “There was a training gap and that has resulted in my performance. I am sorry, but I have to accept that the way it is.”
ETHAN KATZBERG (Canada, 1st place, hammer throw men, 79,66 m): “I am satisfied with my performance, even it can always be better. I couldn´t beat my personal record, due to the long journey from Nairobi I had a little bit less energy. I will not have any rest in the meanwhile, after Banská Bystrica I travel to championships to Germany, France and Taiwan.”
MARCEL LOMNICKÝ (Slovakia – hammer throw men, 3rd place, 71,16 m): “Because I have thrown my maximum of this season, I must be satisfied. I am not content with the fact that I did not throw as far as I do during the trainings. I do not know how this will help me in the charts, I will have a look at it at home.”
MICHAL MORVAY (Slovakia – 5000 m race walk men, 2nd place , 19:35,57 min): “It is the attact to Rome, but I also need to have a good results in Borský Mikuláš. I felt great and I gave it my best shot.”
MÁRIA KATERINKA CZAKOVÁ (Slovakia – 5000 m race walk women, 2nd place, 21:22,27 min): “The goal was to gain some points for the results, so I don´t feel sad for the 2nd. place. I am happy with the points, because in the charts, it is often just about the one place, so the surety will be just at the end of the qualification period. I am happy with my personal record at five.”
MATIC IAN GAČEK (Slovenia – 400 m hurdles men, 1st place , 48,83 s): “Today it was just great. It was a little windy, but I am satisfied. The atmosphere was excellent, this is just a great event. In four days I will compete in Ostrava at Golden Spike and then my fans may see me in Stockholm, at the Diamond League.”
PATRIK DÖMÖTÖR (Slovakia – 400 m hurdles men, 5th place, 50,80 s): “I wanted to make my personal record and to get a good result. The result is decent, but the performance was weak.”
MATEJ BALUCH (Slovakia – 400 m hurdles men, 7th place, 50,98 s): “This season has not been very good for me from the beginning. It was not my best run, I am struggling a bit. Last week I had a high temperature that also influenced my result.”
AMALIE IUEL (Norway – 400 m hurdles women, 1st place, 55,47 s): “My performance was ok, but it was not my best. I really appreciate the support of my fans, I have heard them all the time. I do not think that the weather has influenced my performance – we compete outside and the conditions are the same for all the athletes. I am looking forward to Diamond League competition in my home ground in Oslo.”
DANIELA LEDECKÁ (Slovakia – 400 m hurdles women, 4th place, 57,25 min): “I have run faster than I should, at the end I did not have the energy/ strenght. The atmosphere was just fantastic. I am happy that people found their way to come to the meeting despite the not so ideal weather.”
BOGLÁRKA TAKÁCS (Hungary – 100 m women, 1st place, 11,38 s): “I am happy for my today´s triumph, because last year here I was second. I am not so content with the time, but the victory is the victory. That overwhelms the dissatisfaction with my performance.”
GABRIELA GAJANOVÁ (Slovakia – 800 m women, 1st place, 1:59,57 min): “I have found the power for the strong finish, because people have been pushing me forward. I am glad that I have pleased them this way. I could not wish for more. I started the competitions with a good mindset. My trainer, my family and my sparring partner were here. The goal was the keep in the front and to attack at the finish.”
TOMÁŠ VESZELKA (Slovakia – triple jump Men, 5th place, 16,36 m): “I am not satisfied. If I started the way I finished, it could end up much better.”
NATHAN ISMAR (France – high jump men, 1st place, 220 cm): “I have been injured and that is not easy. The beginning of the season was difficult, but now I feel I am getting back to the shape. I have heard the fans cheering me up, and that made me very happy. I would like to thank them all for that.”
ROBERT RUFFÍNI (Slovakia – high jump men, 7th place, 210 cm): “Today it was a laboursome. It was enough for 210, but not enough for 215.”
ŠIMON BUJNA (Slovakia – 400 m men, 6th place , 46,89 s): “It is not to say much. The only positive was that I have been the best Slovak athlete. I wanted to fight for the Europe, but the last 100 meters seemed to be never-ending.”
ZDENĚK STROMŠÍK (Czechia– 100 m men, 1st place, 10,43 s): “My victory was not expected. I have no idea what was my time. the most important thing for me is the first place at such an important event, because it brings the advantage of the ranking even for the European championships in Rome. I did not see Jan Volko during the competition/race, he was far away from me. Banská Bystrica did not disappoint me , it is just great here.”
JAKUB KUBÍNEC (Slovakia – javelin men, 4th place, 73,75 m): “I am dissatisfied with my performance. The support from teh audience was good, but my legs did not go well. If something would go well at least in one attempt/shot, it could fly further, but today it did not work.”
AMBER HUGHES (USA – 100 m hurdles women, 1st place, 12,69 s): “My today´s performance was ok. I cannot be dissatisfied with the victory. I am glad that I could compete again at the P-T-S meeting today. My fans can look forward to seeing me next year again.”
ALBERT KOMAŃSKI (Poland – 200 m men, 1st place , 20,75 s): “I am content with my result, but I have xpected more from myself. The conditions haven´t been ideal. The compete against Ján Volko is always great, he is one of the best European sprinters. On Tuesday I compete at Golden Spike in Ostrava and then I go to Chapmionships in Rome. I hope I will at least repeat my today´s performance.”
VIKTÓRIA FORSTER (Slovakia – 100 m women and 100 m hurdles, 2nd and 4th place, 11,52 s and 13,29 s): “I am very satisfied with the 100 m race I have go when I have got to the second place, because in 400 m were athletes that are faster than I am. Today I gave everything to the race and I came second, which means good points to the charts in qualifications for European Championships and Olympic Games. The hurdels did not go according to my plans. I have tripped and I thought I would fall in the finsh. But I managed that and I am well. It was just something amazing and I have got goosebumps at the start.”
JÁN VOLKO (Slovakia – 100 m men and 200 m men, 2nd place a 5th place , 10,45 s and 21,07 s): “I am more satisfied with the 100m, I had a better performance. In 200 m there was a slow turn, and at the end I did not have the power. But I take it positively. In my league we do not play for season best where for 200m the time is more than 21 seconds. I believe that it will come in the rigt moment.”
RICHARD KILTY (Great Britain – 100 m men and 200 m men, 3rd and 2nd place, 10,45 s and 20,82 s): “When I compare my results in 100 m and 200m, I am much more satisfied with the 200m race. I have been running with the injury, it hurt during the 200m race. I definitely have to heal it before the European Championship in Rome. It was a great pleasure to compete with Ján Volko and I am content that I have beaten him at least in 200m race.”
MILICA GARDAŠEVIĆ (Serbia – long jump women, 1st place, 673 cm): “I am very happy with my victory, event the result might me better. The weather has been the issue, but we cannot do anything about it. I like this meeting very much and if I will have an opportunity in the future, I will gladly come. And for sure I will reccomend it to others.”
