The introductory discipline of 52nd meeting Pravda – Televízia – Slovnaft did not bring any surprise. Anita Wlodarczyk won with her performance of 75,45 m. She threw more than two metres less than last year, when she set up the record of this meeting. “I am glad I succeeded in winning, but I am not satisfied with my performance, I wanted to break the record of this meeting. I did not feel ideally, it was not my day,” said 31-year-old Polish athlete, for whom it was 36th win in a row. Her successful series started in July 2014.
In Samorin, in the x-bionic sphere complex she started for the second time and next year she would like to add her third participation. “It was a nice race, thanks for the support and great atmosphere. I would like to participate here also next year,” she added.
Second in the prestigious series IAAF Hammer Throw Challenge finished Hanna Skydan from Azerbaijan with her performance of 72,17 m, third finished Ceng Wang from China (72,20 m).
Two Slovak athletes participated, but did not achieve a medal. Nikola Lomnicka finished 7th with her performance of 64,17 m. “I am not very satisfied, I can do better. At the competition, I probably want a lot, and then my technique fails,” said 28-year-old Lomnicka, who waited up to 4th series to get first valid attempt.
Experienced Martina Hrasnova threw her hammer to the distance of 60,88 m and finished 8th. “I repent that it was so bad, but the wind conditions were not the ones which we would have wished for. In the trainings, I did not throw badly, but in comparison with the standard, I have thrown only one tenth of them. I am disappointed, but what can we do. I am still not fit, I do what I can,” she said.
