Polish Fajdek threw 78.67 m in his second attempt, that was enough for win against his countryman Wojciech Nowicky (76.04). “I am not satisfied with the result, because I was slow in the circle. I am angry, because I wanted to throw more than 80 metres,” said Fajdek. On the third place ended Slovak hammer thrower Marcel Lomnicky (74.86 m). “It was extremely demanding. It is not the same as when it is hot. The circle is brushed, but it still slow. Overall, we had difficult conditions, “ noted Lomnicky, fifth at the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.
Interesting competition in the women´s long jump, that took place as a Memorial to Eva Suranova, won Russian sportswomen Darya Klishina by her performance of 675 cm in the last series. “I am very glad that I have created this season´s best. In the short period of time it was the second race for me, but I felt fine, “ said independent sportswomen, because currently she cannot represent her own country. On the third place ended Slovak Jana Veldakova who got there by her last attempt. “It was nerve-wracking. It is like I was attracting millimetre oversteps and they started to become a part of me. I felt fine, but to the end of the competition I started to lose my strength,” disclosed.
Three-kilometre walk won Lebobang Shange from South Africa, injured Matej Toth was missing in the starting list. “I am very satisfied with the achieved time. I have been preparing for three weeks in the High Tatra mountains, I like it here very much,” he said.
In the men´s high jump won Tihomir Ivanov from Bulgaria with his performance of 224 cm. “It was a very good competition, but it was too windy. I could not time the take-off correctly, but I am happy that I finished on the first place.” he said. Slovak Matej Bubenik ended on the 7th place (215 cm). “It was my first start, from my side it was weary. We ended harsh preparation and my body needs to get into it. I feel well and I think it will go up. I expected to achieve more, I wanted to show off in front of the home audience,” he noted.
